Just Curious

To NY Daily News Editor/Writer/Yankee convert Adam Sommers, who abandoned the Mets (and made a really big deal about it in his paper afterwards) after their stunning fall a couple of weeks ago:

Have you become a Red Sox fan by now?

And by the way, I wonder what happened to that woman, an author if I remember, who basically "divorced" the Yankees back when they were under .500 in May and seemingly going nowhere? It was another "big deal" sidebar story in one of the papers when New York was going bad. I have to believe she took them back when they started beating up on lousy pitching and winning games, and probably used the "temporary insanity" defense when she returned to the fold. (I wonder what she's thinking of them now?)

Some people will do anything for publicity.

I believe that woman did write another piece reinstating her love of the yankees, I think I read it in the Sunday Times sports section a week or so ago. Ugh! Seriously, reading stuff like that makes me cringe. How are these people getting published?

Could you ever imagine a Red Sox fan doing ANYTHING of this nature, Michael? I certainly can't. She's just another example of the legions of fair-weather Yankee fans out there. I've known plenty of good ones who've supported the team through thick and thin, but this woman gives those good ones a bad name.

And apparently, she is a successful author. God only knows how.

Quinn, I asked the same question, and my mom commented something similar to mm above: that she took them back, and then got offered--get this--to write a book about the 2007 Yankees season. (I guess a huge chunk in the middle, plus the entire ending, will just be blank!)

I could probably look up the new Times article about her, but I never want to see it. Ever.

But, hey, the good news for people like us: We can go up to a publisher saying we've got a book about our team--and we actually watched them! ALL year!

What a crock, offering that fair-weather idiot a book deal about this Yankee season! At least it will have an ending we'd all enjoy...

I'm still working on my Red Sox tome as we speak...

If you bail on your team then you are DONE. You sure as Hell shouldn't be getting a book deal!

I hate the Yanks, but I'd admire anyone who stuck with them through the 80s. I'm sure she cut and run on them back then as well.

oh Whatever!!!! Let that lady be miserable. It's just more beer for us!!

Considering that It my beloved Steelers took 11 seasons and 4 losses at home in The AFC championships (twice to New England!!) to win a Super Bowl....That Yank-ME fan is not worthy of discussion
