Wake Wins The Clemente

Tim Wakefield won the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award for 2010 for all his charity work off the field. The classy veteran will get the award before tonight's Game 2 of the World Series.

Wake is the first Red Sox player to ever win the award.

And also, my friend Pete Nash has another in a series of fascinating articles over at the Hauls of Shame web site about a Mickey Mantle jersey from his rookie year of 1951 that was donated by the late Barry Halper in 1998 to the Hall of Fame that may actually be a fake, despite the fact that Mickey Mantle himself signed a card stating that it was authentic.
