It's Officially Over Now

The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Red Sox , 5-3, at Rogers Centre (aka The SkyDome) on Saturday, and that means that for the first time since 2002, the Red Sox will not be a part of baseball's postseason.

That also means that there will be no championship flag of any kind flying over Fenway Park during the 2007 season.

To cushion the blow, at the right I have a remembrance of better times.

Memories of that, and my 2004 World Series video, will comfort me through the long winter.

So, how many days before pitchers and catchers report to Ft. Myers?

There are and always be that flag, and others, flying over our Fenway. And sometimes, most of the time, the off season provides its own share of drama and excitement. Stuff we can, and will, write about. As we spend the fall and winter together. Until that February day that the 2007 version of our team travels south. Toward our hopes and dreams. I love it!

There's always a bright side. First thing....finish second. Second thing, watch the Yankees' sudden defeat from their version of the post season.

I look forward to the day the van is loaded up at Fenway and makes the long journey south to Florida...I'll be writing about the Red Sox the entire winter, as I know you will Peter, and many others in our circle...Keep the Faith in 2007!
