Moss Heads For Music City

The second Randy Moss Era in Minnesota is now officially over, as Moss was claimed off waivers today by the Tennessee Titans, the only team who put in a claim for him. The Titans have their off week this week, and don't play again until November 10th against Miami.

The only good thing about this is that the Titans now assume the balance of what Moss is owed for 2010, about $3.4 million.

Meanwhile, Clueless Childress now says he regrets that the Vikings made the trade for Moss on October 6th.

I really regret that Childress succeeded Mike Tice as head coach in 2006. And many Vikings fans are planning to bring red flags to the Metrodome on Sunday to the game against the Cardinals in protest against Childress and are demanding his ouster.

Meanwhile, on the Hot Stove front, the Red Sox added Curt Young as their new pitching coach, succeeding John Farrell, who is now the Blue Jays manager. Adrian Beltre declined his 2011 option with the Red Sox as expected, and is now a free agent. The Red Sox declined Bill Hall's $9.25 million option for 2011, so he's now a free agent. But the Sox are looking to sign him to a new deal. And it appears that the Red Sox will announce a decision on David Ortiz' 2011 option tomorrow, which is for $12.5 million. They actually have until midnight tomorrow night to do it.

Sign Papi for two years or he might bolt to free agency. We'll miss Mr. Beltre immensely.
