At 11:40 PM, The World Changed. For The Better.

Seven years ago today.

A stupid, idiotic, media-created "curse" came to a thankful end. I witnessed it at the Riviera Bar and Cafe in the West Village along with 150 or so delirious Red Sox fans. I had champagne poured on me. One of the better nights of my life.

"Swing and a ground ball, stabbed by Foulke. He has it. He underhands to first. And the Boston Red Sox are the world champions. For the first time in 86 years, the Red Sox have won baseball’s world championship. Can you believe it?" --Joe Castiglione
