The Vikings finally got a much-needed win today over the Arizona Cardinals, 34-10 at the Metrodome.
They rolled up 28 points in the first quarter, as Adrian Peterson scored three TDs, and Donovan McNabb ran for another. Arizona coughed up the ball, and Kevin Kolb was also intercepted, and the Vikes cashed both in. They are now 1-4 on the season.
It was 28-3 at the half. Was I nervous at that point? I sure as hell was. They had previously blown three halftime leads this season, so I was hoping they could put the ball in the end zone to put the game on ice.
The offense didn't do that, but this time the defense held Arizona to just one TD in the second half. The Vikings got two field goals for the 34-10 victory.
Nothing special from McNabb today (10-for-21, 169 yards), but it was good enough for the win. But Peterson continues to be the main man on offense, running for 122 yards on 29 carries.
The Vikings take on the 2-2 Chicago Bears at Soldier Field next Sunday night.
