Red Sox To Get Hanrahan

No, not this Hanrahan:

But Joel Hanrahan, the Pittsburgh Pirates closer who has saved 76 games for the Buccos the last two years. The Sox will send Jerry Sands, who they got in the LA Dodgers megadeal, pitcher Stolmy Pimental, and two other players to be named to Pittsburgh for Hanrahan and another player to be named. Hanrahan will be a free agent after 2013, and that is why his price may not have been that high, and what this will mean to Andrew Bailey as Red Sox closer remains to be seen. The trade should be finished soon.

And a fond farewell to Cody Ross, who agreed to a 3-year, $26 million deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks earlier today. Class guy who will be missed.
