Mistrial

The judge in the Roger Clemens perjury case declared a mistrial this morning.

The prosecution showed inadmissible evidence by showing the jury a video of Rep. Elijah Cummings reading from the affidavit that Laura Pettitte made stating that her husband Andy told her that Clemens used HGH.

Judge Reggie Walton called it an error made by "a first-year law student" and felt that Clemens could not receive a fair trial, and thus he declared a mistrial.

This doesn't necessarily mean the Texas Con Man is off the hook. A new jury could be seated and the whole thing would start all over again. Judge Walton will decide on September 2nd what will happen next.

Here's more from ESPN.
