A Winning Season's Gone, And So May Be AP

The Vikings will now have to run the table in order just to finish at .500.

Ain't no chance of that happening.

A dreadful season got even worse today when Adrian Peterson hurt his right ankle in the second quarter and did not return to the game. He scored the Vikings first touchdown and rushed for 26 yards on 6 carries. No word yet on the severity of Peterson's ankle injury and how long it might keep him out.

The Oakland Raiders steamrolled their way to a 27-21 victory, tearing apart a depleted Vikings secondary. Christian Ponder threw two touchdowns late after the Vikings fell behind 27-7, but the comeback came up short. He threw three costly interceptions.

The Vikings are now 2-8. The baseball season can't come quick enough for me.
