My good friend and Governor of Red Sox Nation for New York State Chris Wertz has a terrific article on his site "The Governor's Sox" about an interview he did with the late Otey Clark, who pitched for the Red Sox in 1945 and was one of the oldest living major leaguers until his death last October at the age of 95.
Mr. Clark pitched to Jackie Robinson, Sam Jethroe and Marvin Williams in their April 1945 tryout at Fenway Park. The article is called "Otey and Jackie: An Unlikely Rivalry."
It's definitely worth the time to read.
