Trivia Q&A: July 31

We had 19 teams in on a great night for Trivia. The Red Sox won a rain-shortened game in Boston, the Yankees got hammered by the Orioles in the Bronx, and the folks were really into the Olympics coverage all night long.

The Olympics Trivia numbers were very good and the Albums Trivia numbers were slightly less than that. Six teams were within four points of each other going into IQ Trivia. And Yours Truly made a spelling error on the final question, writing "Lambeth Place" instead of "Lambeth Palace" in that question, so I awarded everyone four points and tossed out the question. The Omnipotent Q goofs up from time to time.

Olympic Trivia is Redundant wound up the winners, getting all five IQ questions correct (the only team to do so), getting a total of 49 points. Second place was a tie between Kiss My Ass, Show Some Respect and Straddle My Balance Beam and I'll Show You My Breast Stroke (the Best Team Name of the night) with 43 points, and we broke the tie with an Olympics question: "How many total medals did the US win at the 2008 Summer Olympics?" The Straddle team was closest and wound up winning second place (the answer was 110).
