Kelly Opens The Grapefruit Season

Casey Kelly (pictured) will begin the exhibition season on the mound for the Red Sox on Wednesday afternoon, as the Sox will take on Northeastern University in that traditional game at Ft. Myers. That is the first of a college twinbill that day, and the second game will have Boof Bonser starting against Boston College. (That is a 6:05 PM game, and will be on NESN.)

Terry Francona set his rotation for the following four games that week and they are:

Thursday vs. Minnesota: Josh Beckett
Friday at Minnesota: Jon Lester, to be followed by Tim Wakefield
Saturday vs. Minnesota: John Lackey
Sunday at Baltimore: Clay Buchholz ( 1 PM on NESN)

So nice to be writing about upcoming baseball, especially with a foot of snow on the ground.

Yes Spring is in the air. When the Winter Olympics are over I am declaring spring.

Great feature about Canada's help during 9/11 just ran during the Olympics. You would have liked it

Canada was a great help to all those planes that were diverted on that terrible day. God bless them.
