Happy Birthday John

Today would have been John Lennon's 66th birthday. For many years after his death, I would go down to the Dakota, where John lived (and eventually died), every October 9th to remember him. (I would also go on December 8th as well.) There would also be a good number of Beatles fans there at Strawberry Fields, across the street in Central Park. People singing songs or playing CDs of his music. It was always a nice gathering, but there would be the occasional loony there promoting his web site or something about how John was murdered by the CIA or some other nonsense.

John will be fondly remembered throughout the world today, with radio stations playing his music and his friends sharing their memories of him.

He was always one of my idols, and forever will be.

I'm sure he'll be having a happy birthday, wherever he is now.

Wow....you made me smile, with a few tears. Jeez, I miss him. Too many emotions with me sometimes. But that's a good thing.

I found the picture off of a Google Image search. I liked it a lot, so I used it.

Nothing wrong with emotions and expressing them, Peter...

I know...and I just re-read my December 5th 2005 post...and I remember how I felt at the time. And so many others felt the same way after reading what might be my best ever piece of writing. Thanks...

I will be saving my thoughts about John's death for a special post on December 8.

Thanks as always for sharing your nice thoughts with me, Peter...

One can only say this;

"IMAGINE!"
