Words To Live By

During today's Mets-Dodgers playoff game, actor and Mets fan Tim Robbins was in the broadcast booth in the seventh inning and was asked about being a Mets fan. I absolutely loved his response.

"I'm a National League fan. God forbid I should ever root for the Yankees."

Amen to that.

Classic response! I sat next to him and his wife Susan during last Spring's Bruce accoustic solo show in Hartford...she is stunning. He is TALL.

And the music? WOW! But he always is wow, whether playing all the instruments himself or with the E Street Band. So much enjoyment in my life from THAT group of guys. They'll be back, next summer. I feel it. Do not miss them......3 plus hours of joy. Utter joy. Talk about forgetting about life and just...just....words too few to describe. Take care.

I saw Bruce's acoustic solo show at the Meadowlands last year. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but his opening song, "Born In The USA," was done in a very strange and darkly bizarre way.

BTW, before Game 4 of the 2004 World Series, I was at the Riviera Cafe and Fox was there doing remote reports. One of their camera guys looked at me and said, "Hey, do you know you look a little like Tim Robbins?" I said to him, "I've been told that before."

As a tribute to the NY Mets, I'm wearing a beat up old Mets Cap, to show that I'm no "October Arrivista":

Tim Robbins is no "Arrivista", but Spike Lee Sure is.

What was with Dick Ebersol sitting with those two evil Yankee fans, Regis and Donald Trump, during Game 1? I hope he was rotting for Detroit...

Unfortunately, Jere, Dick Ebersol IS a Yankee fan. Since the tragic death of his young son Teddy, it became widely known he was a Yankee fan along with his other son, while Teddy was part of Red Sox Nation.

May God bless Teddy.
