New Laundry

The Red Sox debuted earlier today the changes to the uniforms and the logo they promised. The first uniform pictured is the alternate road jersey, the hat is an alternate one for special occasions, and the other is the new road jerseys. (Haven't heard yet if the Sox will have players names on the back or not. Sorry the above pic is cut off at the end. Click the picture to see it in its entirety.)

I don't have the logo yet, but I'll post it soon. Here's more from the Red Sox web site.

Here is a slideshow about the changes from WBZ-TV. (You can see the new logo, which is very similar to the old one, in the slideshow.)

UPDATE: Yes, the Red Sox WILL have their names on the back of their new primary road jerseys. Fine with me.

I agree. I think the hanging-socks look fantastic. But I am more excited by the return of the blue-and-grays on the road. I love that look. Brings me back to my childhood.

That road uniform is indeed interesting. But I still don't know if they will have the names on the back of those unis...

Personally, I think it sucks. The "B" was tremendously classy. Anyway, teams with a rich history and quite a bit of success on the field should stick with tradition. Leave the marketing crap, which is what this is, to the losers.

I like the "B" on the hat far better, as it is so traditional, and the Red Sox haven't worn any other logo on their hats in 75 years. But the new alternate one will sell (I won't be buying one), and it will only be worn a few times.

I'm having 1986 flashbacks with that road jersey. But it is good to see navy and geay back.

Time to buy a new # 23 (Boyd) jersey.
