Darkman and CY Head to Frisco

Hideki Okajima and Chris Young won their respective elections as the "32nd man" to be included in the All-Star Game this coming Tuesday night in San Francisco. Well done, Red Sox and Padres fans across the nation.

The Darkman edged out Jeremy Bonderman to become the third Sox pitcher heading to the game, and it's also the first time that the Red Sox have ever done that. The Sox now have the most players going to San Francisco, as Okajima joins Jonathan Papelbon, Josh Beckett, Mike Lowell, Manny Ramirez, and David Ortiz at the Midsummer Classic.

And a pox on those Yankee fans who were trying to get Pat Neshek of the Minnesota Twins elected. I like Neshek a lot as a setup man, as I have him on one of my fantasy teams. But in an ironic twist, the Yankees won today over Minnesota on a two-run home run by Hideki Matsui in the eighth inning off: Pat Neshek.

Congratulations, Darkman. Have a great time in San Francisco.

Papelbon was great in his advocacy for Oki...his election slogan was brilliant...."Get my man to San Fran, it's closer to Japan"

A closer, scholar, and poet....wow!

Gotta love Pap, and the fact that both the Red Sox closer and eighth inning setup man are going to San Francisco.

A beautiful thing.
