Tim Wakefield won the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award for 2010 for all his charity work off the field. The classy veteran will get the award before tonight's Game 2 of the World Series.
Wake is the first Red Sox player to ever win the award.
And also, my friend Pete Nash has another in a series of fascinating articles over at the Hauls of Shame web site about a Mickey Mantle jersey from his rookie year of 1951 that was donated by the late Barry Halper in 1998 to the Hall of Fame that may actually be a fake, despite the fact that Mickey Mantle himself signed a card stating that it was authentic.
