I Need Your Vote: Fuel My Blog

A couple of weeks ago, I joined a service called "Fuel My Blog." It's another of those services out there that brings bloggers together from around the world. I have put my blog on a number of places like it, mostly sports-oriented ones.

I didn't realize that when I originally put it up, I had an incorrect code in my template, so I couldn't get any of your votes for my blog. Last night I made the correction (thanks to my friend Cormac who told me of the error), so now you can "Fuel My Blog," my casting a vote for me, and you can do it every day.

My widget is on the bottom-left hand corner of my site, just below where my Site Meter is, and it is the widget you see here in this post. All you have to do is click it down there, and the vote is cast. Thanks for your support!!

Lousy, rotten game at Fenway last night. Tim Wakefield looked putrid, with no command to the knuckler. It's the fourth straight below-par outing for him, which is a worry. The Sox left way too many men on base, and Mike Lowell left after getting hit by a pitch on the left hand, but fortunately it was just a bruise, and might play today.

J.D. Drew continued his lackluster play, and according to the Boston Globe, he has not hit a ball out of the infield in his last 13 plate appearances. And if that wasn't enough, he left last night's game with a slight hamstring injury. Terrific. He's fortunate the Sox are where they are right now, or the boo-birds would be out full-force on him. He'd better get it going soon, or they will be.

And what the hell was Scott Proctor thinking? He throws at Kevin Youkilis' head, right after Javier Lopez plunked a Yankee in the ninth. Talk about stupidity. You know the Red Sox will be angry, and looking to pay the Yankees back for that, and hopefully just on the scoreboard.

There was one moral victory last night. For some reason I can't fathom, the Yankees brought in Mariano Rivera with a six-run lead in the ninth. Joe Torre is simply the worst manager in baseball when it comes to running a bullpen (despite the fact he was tossed out earlier, this was his call). They yanked Ron Villone after throwing just ball one, and brought in Rivera. This was the kind of game where they should save their closer, but they panicked.

That's the reason the Yankees may not ultimately make it to the postseason. An overworked and blown-out pen.

No question about it, Lone Blogger. The first six innings were frustrating, but the finish was satisfying. (And we wish Doug all the best.)

Good site by the way...
