We had 24 teams in for Trivia on Tuesday night, and I was graced with the presence of a friend from Facebook who dropped by and took in our quiz night. His name may sound familiar: John Quinn. And no, he's not related to me. John is from Belfast, Northern Ireland, and he and his girlfriend Jolene stopped in as they were on vacation in New York. We originally met through a now-defunct Facebook group called "People Named John Quinn", which had nearly 100 John Quinns in it until it disbanded some time ago. It was a pleasure to meet them both and have them play on Tuesday night.
The numbers for Republican Party Trivia were better than I would have guessed they'd be, and they were also very good for 2000s Album Trivia and General Knowledge.
We had five teams separated by five points heading into IQ Trivia, but the team going into in first place, Okay Everybody, held on for a slim one point win, with 45 points. Nice job everyone, OK? (Sorry I couldn't resist.)
Second place was actually a tie, and we broke it between Bunch of Bloody Wankers and After He Moonwalked, He Showed Me His Penis (both with 44 points) with the question "How many Republicans are currently in the House and Senate right now?" The answer is 288 (241+47), and The Bunch guessed exactly right and finished in second.
BTW, we will be doing Trivia next Tuesday, September 4th, but the following week we will be doing it on Monday, September 10th at 9 PM, as I will be unavailable for Trivia on September 11th. We will then return to Tuesday nights on September 18th.
