The Worst Call In Baseball History

Here is Exhibit A of the state of umpiring in MLB.

Many of you may have seen this, but this could well be the worst call in baseball history.

Umpire Tim Welke called Dodgers outfielder Jerry Hairston out on a play at first that Rockies' first baseman Todd Helton was at least three feet off the bag yesterday.

Take a look for yourself:

That takes my breath away. Once again, umps shouldn't be treated like Supreme Court judges. The bad ones should be weeded out, like what the NFL does. That was an embarrassment to the game.
