My friend Pete Nash has an interesting article over at Deadspin about a Ty Cobb autograph on baseball that that was once up for bids at an auction house in Dallas. The reason why it was no longer up for bids is that the ball was discovered to be made at least 15 years after Cobb's death in 1961!
It was a really pathetic attempt at a forgery, and somehow the Heritage Auction House actually had it up for bids at one time.
Also, Allan at The Joy of Sox has his annual contest up and running, and if you can guess the correct Red Sox record for 2012, you can win the 100th Anniversary coffee table of Fenway Park that the Boston Globe is putting out. Go and check it out.
