Hell With The Snow: Here's Something To Look Forward To

Yeah, it's really abominable outside. Snow on top of snow on top of snow. Here in Brooklyn we've had snow on the ground for 33 consecutive days (the last time there was a snowless street where I am was on Christmas Day). It's depressing and it makes me curse the name of Al Gore with each amount of that blasted white stuff I have to shovel (and don't get me started on THAT subject).

Anyway, on to much warmer, positive thoughts.

NESN announced its Spring Training Schedule for 2011, and it begins with everyone's hated rival, the New York Yankees, on March 4th in Tampa. It's a Friday night game at 7 PM, and they will also broadcast the other game with New York at Ft. Myers on March 14th (a Monday night game at 7 PM).

There are 13 games in total that NESN will show in March, and six of them will see the Sox on the road, including a game with the Mets on March 6th. The finale will be the last game of the spring, against the Astros in Houston on Wednesday night, March 30th. That will be two days before the Red Sox open the season in Texas against the Rangers. (Remember the season starts on a Friday this year.)

The Red Sox will also have games broadcast on ESPN and the MLB Network, and those schedules should be out soon. Here is the Red Sox' complete Spring Training schedule.

So, with thanks to my friend Ian at Sox & Dawgs, here is the complete NESN schedule for March. Just 36 days to go:
