On a really cold night in New York, we still had 11 teams and a good crowd turn out at Professor Thom's for Trivia Night. I appreciate one and all who come in such weather just to answer my Q&A and win prizes.
It was close all night, and we had a rare event occur in General Knowledge. The top two teams got the same score (10) while everyone else (9 teams) got the same score (8). And it was generally all the same questions they got right and wrong. Very odd.
Speaking of odd, the scores on "Odd Numbered Trivia" were quite strong, and it was an amazingly close race going into the last round. The top eight teams were separated by only five points. But the team that led throughout the evening, Health Care Is Drowning In The Hudson, came out on top, getting three of the five IQ questions right and winning by three points.
The second place team probably had the longest Trivia Night name we have ever had: "Ladies, Look at Your Man, Now Look Back at Me, Now Back at Your Man, Now Back at Me. Sadly, He Isn't Me, But If You Buy Him Turtlenecks For Christmas, He Can Look Like Me." (I said that just once on the night. You also have to have a good sense of humor to host a Trivia Night.)
Third place went to "Dr. Funke's 100% Natural Good Time Family Band Solution", who were just a point out of second. (It was also "The Night of the Long Names.")
