2010 Irish American Baseball HOF Inductees

The Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame winners were just announced, and the 2010 inductees are: Red Sox executive and baseball author Bill James, former catcher/announcer Tim McCarver, legendary Mets announcer Bob Murphy, Yankees GM Brian Cashman, and 19th century Hall of Fame pitcher Mike "King" Kelly (pictured).

Those gentlemen will be inducted at Foley's Pub on August 6th at noon, where the Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame is housed. McCarver and Cashman will be on hand for the ceremonies, and some of the past inductees will also be there. Joye Murphy will be there to accept for her late husband, and Marty Appel, biographer of King Kelly, will accept on his behalf.

Those currently in the Hall include: Connie Mack, Mark McGwire, Steve Garvey, Paul O'Neill, Red Foley, Sean Casey, John Flaherty, Vin Scully and Jim Joyce (yes, that Jim Joyce). The Hall has a web site that is currently under construction but should be up shortly: www.irishbaseballhall.com.

Congratulations to all the winners, and I raise a glass to all of you!
