The title of this post is what I tell people who ask me if I'd ever root, under any circumstances, for the New York Yankees.
Think I will offer them and their fans my congratulations? Look elsewhere.
I am a Boston Red Sox fan and will be until the day I die. And I am damn f***ing proud of that.
Thank you for those two World Series titles this decade, Theo and The Trio.
102 days until pitchers and catchers report.
It can't come soon enough.
I think I wanna throw up.
ReplyDeleteI'll join you, Eddie.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think of Roger the Shrubber, from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" who observed, "There's a pestilence upon this land..."
And I think we know what that is...
Yeah about the only positive is that I don't have to hear Tim McCarver or Joe Buck ruin baseball for at least six months.
ReplyDeleteOr Mc Carver & Buck Sucking up to Jeter.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't have to be anywhere near the parade route.
ReplyDeleteNow exactly WHAT date is P&C?
There will be no parade attendance by me either. Sorry about Liverpool yesterday. It must be less than 100 days until "Truck Day."
ReplyDeleteTex: I believe it is about February 15th, as that is the day I'm using. When it is amended, I'll change the day on my blog.
ReplyDeleteRick: Truck Day should be about a week before pitchers and catchers. Can't wait for it. I'd rather have all my back teeth removed than witness that monstrosity up Broadway on Friday.
I think Liverpool is done for both England and Europe this year, Rick. And Rafa Benitez maybe unemployed soon.
ReplyDeleteMeh.
ReplyDeleteI rooted for the Phillies, naturally. Hate to see those dirty Stankees win, but I can't begrudge my common-sense-impaired friends a gracious "congratulations."
I dislike both of this years contestants, but obviously dislike one a LOT more than the other, so I routed against the Yankees more than for the Phillies.
ReplyDeleteHey, there is a GREAT link on Jere's site (A Red Sox From From Pinstripe Territory) to an article from 2003 where a Yankee fan states the Red Sox will NEVER win a World Series and how that fact is his seemingly whole sense of happiness in the universe. It did me a world of good reading it and knowing what happened next. Check it out. It in the post entitled Mike Musina Weeps, or something close to that. Sorry I'm not proficient at linking things :(
I'll practice, I promise
Great stuff, SoSock. Read that article on Jere's site. Made me feel so much better!!
