Just What The Doctor Ordered

Jon Lester looked great last night at Fenway Park, and the injury he suffered last Friday night looked like a thing of the distant past, as he pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings as the Red Sox beat the Indians, 3-0.

Lester retired the first nine before he allowed a single to Michael Brantley in the fourth. He allowed just two hits in getting his 15th win. He struck out seven in throwing only 84 pitches.

Any fears the Red Sox had about him after the scary incident of last week seemed to be long gone.

Now the rest of the Red Sox rotation will tune up this weekend against the Indians before the playoffs begin, as Daisuke Matsuzaka goes tonight, Josh Beckett will pitch Saturday, and Clay Buchholz will go in Sunday's finale.
