An Evening With The Spaceman

A week from tonight, there will be a special evening at Professor Thom's in Greenwich Village, as Bill Lee (on the left, pictured with Carl Yastrzemski), the immortal "Spaceman" and former Red Sox and Montreal Expos pitcher, will be on hand at the bar for a screening of the DVD, "Spaceman: A Baseball Odyssey," at 7 PM that night. (I have a copy of the DVD, and it is terrific.)

It should be a fun night, as producer of the film Brett Rapkin will talk afterwards about the making of the film, and there will be autographed items raffled off as well as a special edition of trivia based on Bill Lee. (We will have the regular Trivia Night after the festivities.)

Magic Hat Breweries will also feature a special "Spaceman Ale" for the evening. Proceeds from the ale as well as the raffles will be donated to charity.

It should be a fun evening with The Spaceman, and I hope those of you Red Sox fans in the New York area can make it to the bar on December 12.
